Over the last few days Andrea and I have had some nice dives, and I have a few video clips from them that I thought I’d share.
First, from a dive on the west wall on Tuesday, I got a nice little video clip of a turtle coming down from the surface. The turtle was up catching a breath of air, and as it comes down it goes right past me and then loops around and swims right past Andrea. It was very neat! Take a look:
Next is a short clip from that same dive, this one of a HUGE stingray. This guy is a giant, and the video shows it, as Andrea gets in the picture with him. Seeing a stingray on a dive is not unusual, but seeing one this big (away from Stingray City) is pretty rare.
Finally, I have a video clip from our dives today. We went diving on the north wall with our friends James and Elton at Seven Mile Watersports (the likely new recepient of my frequent boat diving referrals, by the way), and we had two great dives. On both dives we saw spotted eagle-rays! For me this is a big deal, as I’ve only seen a few of these in my year on the island (they do not frequent the shore dives that comprise 90% of my work related diving). So I was excited. On the first dive we saw two eagle-rays, and on the second dive we saw three! This is a quick little clip of an eagle-ray swimming on a dive site called Chinese Wall.
I take lots of photos and videos on my fun dives, and I’ll keep posting the ones that are really cool, so be sure to check them out!
