Steve’s Parents Visit Cayman

Although we’re only a few months into 2008, it has been a busy year so far!  We’ve had a lot of big events so far, but for me, the biggest and best of those has been the visit by my parents.

My parents came down in mid-February for what was basically a long weekend (four days).  They are not big into water activities, and so the short visit made sense, since there isn’t much to do on the island besides water based activities.  Even though the visit was to be a short one, I was still very excited for it, since I hadn’t seen my folks since Thanksgiving, and even that was only a short visit.  I am lucky to have some flexibility with my job, so I was off from work for their entire visit (Andrea had just started a new job (more on that in a future blog), so she was not able to get any time off).

In short, my parents’ visit was excellent.  It was great to see them, and we had a lot of fun just roaming around the island.  We went to the botanical gardens, spent time at the beach at Rum Point, and went out to eat (which was a real treat for Andrea and I, since we don’t go out to eat often).  The food was great, the scenery was beautiful (there are a lot of restaurants with ocean-side seating), but best of all was that we were with good company!

It was a great visit, and Andrea and I loved having my parents down here.  We look forward to the next time they come to Cayman!
