Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of activity here at TeamSchmoop lately. unfortunately, our computer is having serious issues. The screen doesn’t work, and as you can imagine, it’s hard to use a computer when the screen isn’t functional. I’ve spent about six hours on the phone with Dell (at international calling rates) trying to fix the problem. The good news is that my computer is still under warranty. The bad news is that having it fixed here in the Cayman Islands seems to be a difficult proposition. But I am persistent, so with any luck it will be up and running soon.
I do want to take this opportunity to send out some congratulations to friends of ours.
First, to our good friends Kevin and Carrie — CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of your son, Griffin! By the way, Griffin is a pretty kick-ass name. Carrie is a good friend of mine from law school, and Kevin is an all around awesome guy, and they deserve nothing but happiness. So mazel tov on the addition to your family!!!
Next, Congratulations to another law school buddy, Zeit (a.k.a. “David”), on his recent engagement to Janeen. Zeit is another good friend of mine, and even though one of the great ones has fallen (he announced his engagement in an email with the subject line of “DOWN goes Frazier”), his fiancee Janeen is a teriffic girl, and in all the years I’ve known Zeit I’ve never known him to be happier with anyone than he is with Janeen. So mazel tov to them as well!!! (you can read more about his engagement on his website).
Finally, early congratulations to me for qualifying to compete in the 2008 World Series of Poker!! I haven’t actually qualified yet, but I’ve decided that it will be a goal of mine to win the $10,000 so I can compete this summer. If my computer ever gets fixed, I’m going to work hard to win the money! So get ready poker world — I’m (hopefully) coming to vegas this summer with free money in tow!!!
