The Britney Spears of Cayman

Before she showed the world just how trashy white trash could be, Britney Spears was not just another pop star with a pretty face.  She was a cutting-edge performer.  Britney’s recent “comeback” at the MTV video music awards was pretty much panned as awful, but that’s not really a fair asessment.  It was an average performance.  The problem is that her previous performances had been so above-average that it made this one look bad by comparison.

My favorite Britney performance (not that I’ve seen too many) is from the 2001 MTV VMAs, where Britney danced on stage with a 10-foot python around her neck.  Haven’t seen it?  Check it out:

Andrea doesn’t have much in common with Britney Spears (other than that Andrea is a super-hottie, and Britney used to be a super-hottie).  But they do share one other similarity — dancing with snakes.  Except in Andrea’s case, it’s swimmingand not dancing, and it is not a python, but an eel.

Andrea sometimes goes to Stingray City to lead dives, and she’s made friends with Psycho, the resident moray eel at Stingray City.  Meet Psycho:

Psycho actually has cataracts from living in the shallow water, so his vision is not that good.  Most instructors give Psycho his space since he can’t see well and since, well, he’s an eel.  Andrea is not like most instructors, though.  She has no fear, and she has managed to make friends with the eel, and even wrap him around her little finger (or, more accurately, her neck).

While I hope that Andrea and Britney don’t have too many other traits in common, I think that this similarity is very cool.  Check out the rest of these pictures, and see for yourself that Britney doesn’t have anything on my girl!
