Leaving the Law-Firm Lifestyle (goodbye to S&K!)

I already posted about my NYC send-off, where we went out to see Milo Z and party in the city one last time before leaving town.  I was lucky enough to receive an additional send-off party, this time from the good folks at Seward & Kissel!  Although i guess after taking my blood, sweat and tears for the last eight-plus years, it is the least they could do.  :-p  The party was not just for me, though — my good friend Merideth Elliott, who started working at S&K a little before I did, is also leaving the firm to pursue a better lefestyle!  She is moving to Paris for a few months on an apartment swap, after which she will take the foreign service exam and pursue a new career.  She has been at the firm for as long as I have and she understands how hard it is to make a change at this point, so it has been nice that she can relate to what Andrea and I are doing, and of course, we wish her the best of luck on her adventures!  Here is a picture of the two of us together at our going away party:

Although working at Seward & Kissel has had its share of ups and downs, one of the constant bright spots about the firm is the people.  I’ve made a lot of great friends there, and everyone was happy for Andrea and I, and wished us well on our new life together.  While I won’t miss the long hours, the late nights or the high stress level, I will miss my co-workers and friends.  So allow me to raise a glass and say thanks to everyone who made working at S&K more tolerable/fun than it otherwise would have been!

Check out a bunch of pictures from my S&K going away party, and see if you can guess which ones are the partners and which ones are the associates!  :-p
